Son pony effect deep & pure lip tint

Seems like Pony has an everlasting line of lip products. To continue on her lip legacy, she also has these “deep & pure lip tints” which came out a while ago. I finally got my hands on these and I wanted to see why she needed to add another tint to her brand. If you want to check out my other reviews on her lip products, click here! I absolutely fell in love with her fluid lip tints which is perfect for me since I usually like a more natural, more watercolour type of lip look rather then a bold lip. Another lip product I absolutely love from her are the stay fit matte lipsticks which gives me a bold matte lip look without being super drying. Needless to say, I like her lip products and am excited to test these babies out. So let’s go~

How to use:Use the doe foot applicator to smooth tint over lips, as you would with lip gloss.

Product packaging:Packaging for these lip tints are one of the most unique ones I have seen. When I first saw a promo picture of these lip tints on Instagram, I thought it would be a squeeze out type where you would have to dab it onto the lips with your fingers. To my surprise, they actually have a built in doe foot applicator which you pull out and use to apply.

The tube itself is the same height as my iPhone 6s screen, 10.7 cm to be exact. The lid has the same rose gold detailing as with the rest of the Pony effect line. In the front, there is the signature lightening bolt logo with the shade colour to indicate which shade you are grabbing. I kind of wish they also added the color indicator on the top of the lid so if you guys were to store it lid side up, you’d be able to tell easily which shades you are grabbing.

One thing that does kind of annoys me is that they didn’t bother to print the English name on the back. The little square is actually the sticker that comes with the box in which I had to rip off, carefully cut the name and then stick it on the back. Unfortunately since the stickiness has worn off, it does peel off very easily.

Unfortunately, I think the stopper inside isn’t tight enough since the product does seem to seep out a little bit causing a huge mess. When I first got mine in the mail, two of the ten shades spilled out a bit. I’m not too sure if that had to do with customs opening up my package to make sure it’s not drugs being smuggled or something but it was quite messy. I tried wiping it down a bit but since there were some still stuck in the lid, it was hard to get it spotlessly clean. I do like the fact that it does come in a tube since you are able to squeeze out the product from every inch. I just wish it wasn’t so messy. If you do tilt the opening, product will spill out so you have to be careful.

Color/ Pigmentation:After testing these out, I understand why Pony decided to have these lip tints added into the brand. Unlike the favourite fluid lip tints which gives the lips a juicy watercolour touch to the lips or even the stay fit matte lip colours which are in a world of their own, there wasn’t an in-between. To unify the whole line, there had to be an in-between. Unlike most liquidy lip tints in the K-beauty market, these don’t seem to bleed out of my lip lines, are a whole lot more pigmented to the point of it being able to be a liquid lipstick, they still do a great job at staining the lips.

With 10 shades to choose from, there is definitely something to choose from and something for everyone. There are a mixture of reds, oranges, pinks, up to roses and berry shades. With one swipe, you can get a full intensity already and it stains your lips almost instantaneously.
